Military-USV cluster
On the morning of 5 June 2026 an uncrewed sea drone (USV) was found in Constanța port, Romania, near the oil-terminal and berth area, after reportedly moving off course into the port. It later self-detonated. Other detonations were reported nearby, and further sea drones were reported in offshore waters; their number has not been established.
The drone was of a type used by Ukraine. Ukraine attributed its drift to Russian jamming. The exact operators, the number of separate offshore vehicles and the mechanisms involved have not been fully established.
Port and security authorities secured the area, and the military and coast guard intervened. No casualties or major additional damage were reported. The port is Romanian sovereign territory; jurisdiction over the nearby offshore waters varies.
