Drone fragments found on Capu Midia beach, Romania, neutralised by Navy

Officially reported non-explosive aerial-drone-fragment discovery and disposal; origin unresolved

At about 20:00 on 9 September 2026 aerial-drone fragments were reported on Capu Midia beach in Constanța County, on Romania's Black Sea coast. The area was isolated overnight, and a Navy explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team responded at about 09:30 on 10 September and neutralised the material. The two dates are stages of one incident.

The Defence Ministry (MApN) reported that the fragments carried no explosive charge. No operator or national origin has been confirmed, the number of drones the fragments came from was not specified, and the original flight is unknown.

The neutralisation was a controlled disposal by the authorities, not an explosion during the incident. Separate finds notified to police at Mamaia Nord and Corbu on 10 September are distinct from this one.
