Navy identifies drone debris on Bungalata beach at Ahtopol, Bulgaria

Coastal aerial-drone recovery; individual origin unresolved

On 28 August 2026 the Bulgarian Navy identified material found on Bungalata beach in Ahtopol, on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, as debris from a drone (UAV). The date is the discovery and response date: when the drone came down, and the route it flew, are unknown.

The origin of the debris has not been established and no operator has been identified. Broader Russian or Ukrainian associations made for this group of coastal finds do not identify this particular object.

No casualties were reported. A Navy team from Burgas transported the material to base. Although Bungalata beach is a separate recovery site, it has not been established that the debris comes from a different drone than other finds on the coast.
