Coastal aerial-drone recovery; individual origin unresolved
On 27 August 2026 an object suspected to be a drone (UAV) was seen about 1–1.5 km offshore from Chernomorets, in Sozopol municipality on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. A report on 28 August said drone debris had been recovered from the beach there.
The origin of the drone has not been established and no operator has been identified. Broader Russian or Ukrainian associations made for this group of coastal finds do not identify this particular object. It has also not been proven that the beach debris came from the object seen offshore.
No casualties were reported. The Navy in Burgas responded and transported the debris to base. When the drone came down, and the route it flew, are unknown.
