Romania confirms two unauthorized drone entries in its northeast

Officially confirmed unauthorized entries; final outcome unresolved

Romania’s defence ministry confirms two drones entered northeastern national airspace on the evening of 31 October 2026. One departed; the other was last observed between Vaslui and Bacău counties. No crash was reported at publication.

Four F-16s and an IAR-330 SOCAT launched, and public warnings ended at 19:19 local. This is one occurrence involving two drones, not two verified attacks. Operator, model, intent and targets remain unknown; the map anchor is approximate.

According to Iași airport’s director, a Wizz Air arrival from Eindhoven was rerouted to Suceava during the temporary airspace closure. This disruption belongs to the same episode, not another incursion.
