Greece reports six Turkish UAVs and four airspace violations in Aegean

Greek-authority-reported Turkish UAV airspace violations
Greece’s military reported six Turkish UAVs over the northeastern and southeastern Aegean on 15 October 2026. NewsIT and ProtoThema reproduced four national-airspace violations and eleven Athens FIR infringements. All six aircraft were identified and intercepted, with no weapons engagement reported.
The aircraft models, exact sites and sortie times were not published. Turkish attribution and the national-airspace assessment are those of Greek authorities; the latter remains subject to the longstanding Greek-Turkish airspace dispute. The original GEETHA bulletin was not retrieved directly.
No crashes, casualties, damage or EOD operations were reported. This is one dated activity record. UAV, violation and FIR counts measure different things and do not create additional incident rows.
Attribution and uncertainty
- Origin / operator / attribution
- Turkish military UAVs according to GEETHA, as reproduced by NewsIT and ProtoThema. The national-airspace violation assessment remains attributed to Greece given the Greek-Turkish airspace dispute.
- Investigation / uncertainty
- High confidence in the published Greek military account. The original GEETHA bulletin was not retrieved directly; agreement between media reports does not independently verify the tracks or disputed airspace assessment.
