Radar-confirmed Romanian incursion; unidentified target later shot down in Ukraine
Romania’s Defence Ministry reported a brief morning incursion east of Sulina on 14 October 2026. A 10:19 RO-Alert warned residents in northern and eastern Tulcea, and two Romanian F-16s launched. Exact entry time was not given.
The unidentified target returned to Ukrainian airspace, where Ukrainian air defence shot it down, according to the ministry. The Romanian map marker identifies the incursion area, not the later shoot-down site. Its UAV identity and operator remain unresolved.
The all-clear came at 11:22. This is separate from the 06:39 alert that involved no Romanian entry and from the afternoon and evening incursions. No Romanian casualties or damage were reported.
